Treasurer Responsibilities

​Surface (Bylaws)​
  • Receive all funds belonging to KEA and be responsible for their safekeeping and accounting
  • Pay out funds upon orders of the President and co-sign checks
  • Prepare a written financial report for each Rep and Exec Council meeting
  • Perform an annual audit of the books and distribute a summary to membership
  • Create a budget for the approval of the Rep Council
  • Submit financial reports to CTA, NEA, and other agencies as required by law
As a member of the Executive Council your responsibilities also include:
  • Coordinating activities of KEA
  • Direct bargaining activities
  • Direct Grievance processing
  • Coordinate policies set by the Rep Council
  • Appoint and remove bargaining team members
  • Recommend a budget for the Association
  • Approve committee appointments
  • Adopting Standing Rules for KEA
  • Exercise all of the business and organizational powers and duties for KEA as prescribed by law and these laws are subject imposed by the Rep Council

  • Attend  District meetings with President 
  • Contribute to monthly KEA newsletter to keep members informed on our budget, CTA's budget, NEA's budget, and dues information for KEA, CTA, and NEA
  • Oversee KEA's Paypal Account
  • Oversee KEA's Spreadshirt Account
  • Work with Membership Engagement Chair to coordinate KEA Scholarship Fundraising
  • Attend CTA Conferences to stay informed

  • Attend Board meetings
  • Contribute to Working Contract to prepare for negotiations
  • Work with Membership Engagement Chair to coordinate the writing of grants
